Adult Dance Workshops & Classes
Threads offers classes and workshops for adults from novice to professionals in a safe and welcoming environment. We also host several guest artists workshops and multi-week specific experiences for adults to move. All adult classes are open to participants ages 16+.

Adult Modern-Late Fall Session
Mondays, September 14, November 2, 2026
Time change for Fall 2026 classes: 6:30-8:00 p.m.
8 classes: $175
This class introduces the foundational principles of modern dance in a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment. Students will explore fundamental techniques, including floor work, center exercises, and basic movement phrases, while developing strength, coordination, and creative expression.
Perfect for beginners and those looking to build confidence in their movement journey!
Open Company Class
Modern Mondays and Ballet Tuesdays in September & October
9:00-10:30 am
This September and October, Threads is offering advanced-professional level Open Company Classes with guest instructors. With a different instructor for ballet and modern each month, dancers have the opportunity to expand the tools at their disposal for technique and artistry.
Erin Thompson will teach Modern Mondays through October, and Threads’ alumni Julie Marie Muskat will lead Ballet Tuesdays.
Open company class will take place at the Nexus on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9:00 to 10:30am.
Classes are $15 if you pre-register and $18 at the door. We can't wait to move with you!
Mini Winter Workshop
It’s an intensive - mini-sized!
Warm up and escape the frigid, frosty air December 3rd and 4th at Threads' Mini Winter Workshop!
This robust, two day program provides participants with two hour ballet and modern technique classes, a provided lunch, Alexander technique, Jazzfunk, modern partnering, repertoire and more!
With the option to choose one day for $115 or both for $175, dancers will learn from Twin Cities favorites like Helen Hatch, Berit Ahlgren, Andy Mor, Erin Thompson and Brianna Johnson.
From 9am - 4:30 pm each day, dancers will get to explore a variety of techniques and get a sneak peek at potential audition material; Threads’ Company audition for the 2027 Performance Season is on December 12.
