Residencies

Master Classes:
Threads Dance Project offers master classes in ballet, modern dance, Horton technique, and creative movement taught by company members and Threads’ Artistic Director. Each class can be structured for beginning to advanced levels.
Lecture/Demonstration Workshops:
The lecture/demonstration introduces the world of dance in a lively and intimate environment. The lecture creates an open dialogue between audience and company to illustrate the commonalities that bind us all together through movement. Led by the Artistic Director, the discussion will focus on the choreographic process, the company members’ training and background, and also a sampling of Threads’ repertoire. The lecture/demonstration welcomes audience participation.
Week-Long Residency (Community and Schools):
A week-long residency includes technique classes, learning repertoire and a lecture/demonstration. Participants engage in daily dance technique classes and workshops learning Threads repertoire. Upon request, a repertoire or original work may be set on participants for a final performance. Threads Dance Project guides participants through the choreographic process in creating movement around various topics, including identity and self-empowerment, as well as exploration of choreographic boundaries.
All master classes and residencies may be individually tailored to fulfill the needs of the hosting school, organization or request.
