Audition to Become a Company Dancer
2027 Performance Season Auditions
SATURDAY, December 12, 2026 | TIME: 3:00 - 7:00 PM
LOCATION: Threads Dance Nexus, 2213 Snelling Ave #100, Minneapolis, MN 55404
Threads Dance Project is seeking a diverse group of dancers ages 21+ who are versatile, expressive, quick learners, and fluent in a variety of dance forms.
AUDITION SCHEDULE:
3:00-3:30 p.m. | Registration and self-warm-up
3:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. | Audition
REGISTRATION:
Dancers are encouraged to pre-register by WEDNESDAY, December 9, 2026, and upload a headshot and resume via the Google form. In-person registration will also be available—but we prefer interested dancers to pre-register online.
We are not accepting virtual auditions at this time.

AVAILABILITY AND SCHEDULE:
Rehearsals begin Monday, January 4th, with performances April 30th - May 2nd. Dancers must be available for the following dates:
JANUARY 4TH - APRIL 22ND: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9:00am - 12:30pm
TECH WEEK: April 26th - April 29th
SHOWS: April 30th - May 2nd
Rehearsals for our fall season will begin in August 2027. Our fall season will include a fall show, fall tour, and holiday show.
Mini-Winter-Workshop
Warm up and escape the frigid, frosty air December 3rd and 4th at Threads' Mini Winter Workshop!
This robust, two day program provides participants with two hour ballet and modern technique classes, a provided lunch, Alexander technique, Jazzfunk, modern partnering, repertoire and more!
With the option to choose one day for $115 or both for $175, dancers will learn from Twin Cities favorites like Helen Hatch, Berit Ahlgren, Andy Mor, Erin Thompson and Brianna Johnson.
From 9am - 4:30 pm each day, dancers will get to explore a variety of techniques and get a sneak peek at potential audition material!

Emerging Choreographer Opportunity: Tapestries & Patterns
Threads Dance Project annually commissions 3 emerging choreographers selected by an expert panel of dance/community leaders to create new works for the company’s spring 2027 season under the guidance of Artistic/Executive Director Karen L. Charles. Learn more about Tapestries and Patterns Programs. Applications are due 10/22/26 by 11:59 pm.
Join Us for Company Class
When our company is in rehearsals, we offer Open Advanced/Professional Class.
Modern Mondays and Ballet Tuesdays in September & October
9:00-10:30 am
This September and October, Threads is offering Open Company Classes with guest instructors. With a different instructor for ballet and modern each month, dancers have the opportunity to expand the tools at their disposal for technique and artistry.
Classes are $15 if you pre-register and $18 at the door. We can't wait to move with you!
