Audition to Become a Company Dancer
2026-27 Performance Season Auditions
TIME: 9:00 - 12:30 PM, SATURDAY, JUNE 27th
LOCATION: Threads Dance Nexus, 2213 Snelling Ave #100, Minneapolis, MN 55404
Threads Dance Project is seeking a diverse group of dancers ages 21+ who are versatile, expressive, quick learners, and fluent in a variety of dance forms.
AUDITION SCHEDULE:
9:00-9:30 a.m. | Registration and self-warm-up
9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Audition
REGISTRATION:
Dancers are encouraged to pre-register by WEDNESDAY, June 24th, 2026, and upload a headshot and resume via the Google form. In-person registration will also be available—but we prefer interested dancers to pre-register online.
A virtual audition format is available upon request; however, in-person auditions are preferred. Virtual auditions must be arranged with Rehearsal Manager, Maddy Harper by MONDAY June 1st , 2026, and virtual audition materials must be submitted no later than FRIDAY, June 12th , 2026. Advanced/Professional Summer Intensive
Interested dancers are also invited to attend Threads' Advanced/Professional Summer Intensive this June 22-26 at the Threads Dance Nexus. This week-long intensive gives artist the option to choose the Performer Track, Choreographer Track, or both! Each includes technique classes in Contemporary-Modern and Ballet, along with Threads Repertoire, Improvisation & Composition.

Emerging Choreographer Opportunity: Tapestries
Threads Dance Project annually commissions 3 emerging choreographers selected by an expert panel of dance/community leaders to create new works for the company’s spring 2026 season under the guidance of Artistic/Executive Director Karen L. Charles. Learn more about Tapestries.
Join Us for Company Class
When our company is in rehearsals, we offer Open Advanced/Professional Class. Monday Modern and Tuesday Ballet classes are from 9:00-10:30 AM, Thursday Modern classes are from 9:00-10:00 AM. All classes are held at the Threads Dance Nexus studio.
