Summer Dance @ the Threads Dance Nexus

Creative Connections I, II & Adv./Prof. Summer Intensive

Join Us This Summer!

The Karen L. Charles Threads Dance Project is excited to offer three training opportunities for youth as well as adult professional dancers. This summer’s teaching faculty will include present and former Threads company members, our esteemed Teaching Artists, and even Artistic/Executive Director Karen Charles. Please visit the “About” section of our website to learn more about the people who make the project possible!

All classes offered at the Threads Dance Nexus embody our teaching philosophy which is always…

  • Culturally-relevant—so that dancers of any race or ethnicity feel a sense of belonging
  • Trauma-informed—dance education has the potential to reproduce harm or liberate. We chose liberation!
  • Anatomically sound—working safely with the body to keep you dancing longer and stronger
  • Inclusive and equitable—all are welcome and differing needs acknowledged
  • Socially just—seeking to rectify injustice through arts activism

All summer experiences require pre-registration and full tuition before the deadline listed below. If tuition presents a financial hardship for you or your student, please email dancenexus@threadsdance.org for more information. Threads believe that financial standing should not prevent anyone interested in studying dance. Limited financial assistance is available for those in need.
